The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that it will reopen the Hanoi Library on April 18 after completing the renovation. This is the goal of the project to establish the first overseas library by the end of March.

As part of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) project, the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been promoting the project of establishing a small overseas library since 2007 and from 2020, the scope of Support for the establishment will be extended to public libraries abroad by further expanding the beneficiaries.
Through this, the project has created a space for reading and cultural enjoyment, while improving the lives of local residents by developing lifelong learning, information use and cultural exchange. .
Hanoi City Library in Vietnam has been supported to remodel from 1st to 3rd floors, install Korean equipment and content, archives and strengthen local library managers and librarians. .
At the end of March, before the opening, the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism invited 6 managers, including the Deputy Director of the Hanoi Library to Korea to share library culture. and Korean working trends at 7 excellent libraries of Korea, including the National Library of Korea, and conduct training to strengthen library operation capabilities.
