Next week, the President and more than 200 Korean businesses visit Vietnam

(VOVworld) – South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and a delegation of 205 major Korean businesses will visit Vietnam from June 22-24.

According to the announcement of the Office of the President of the Republic of Korea yesterday, the visit was made at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong and is the first visit to a Southeast Asian country by Mr. Yoon Suk Yeol.

South Korea and Vietnam upgraded their relations to a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” in December last year, “opening a new chapter in the relationship” in the words of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

The Korean leader also emphasized cooperation on advanced technology in stabilizing supply chains and exploiting rare earth resources in Vietnam. Mr. Yoon Suk Yeol also considered cooperation in the fields of finance, information and communication, high technology, infrastructure and energy… as important issues that the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation.
